How to actually use previous year papers

PYQs are one of the highest-leverage things you can revise from — BPUT tends to repeat question patterns and topic weightage across years, even when exact numbers change. Filter by branch, semester, exam type (Regular or Back) and year on the sidebar, then work backwards from the most recent year to spot which topics show up every single time.

A good routine: solve the last 3 years of Regular papers under a timer, then check your subject notes for anything you got stuck on. Back papers are worth a glance too — they often reveal the questions students found hardest.

What's the difference between Regular and Back papers?

Regular papers are the standard end-semester exam papers given to all students. Back papers are re-exam papers for students who need to clear a subject in a supplementary attempt — the syllabus is the same, but question framing can differ slightly.

How many years of papers should I go through?

For most subjects, 3-4 years gives you a reliable picture of recurring topics and typical mark distribution. If a subject's syllabus has changed recently, focus on the most recent 2 years first.
